These Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies have it all – A smooth velvet texture, a hint of chocolate, and a gorgeous shade of red.
all-purpose flour cocoa powder baking powder baking soda tsp salt softened butter brown sugar white granulated sugar 2 large eggs milk vanilla extract red food coloring
Preheat oven to 375° F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar to combine. Set aside.
In a mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs. Mix until combined. Gradually fold dry mixture into wet mixture.
FORM & BAKE
Scoop or roll into 1¼” balls. Drop onto cookie sheet. Bake 8 minutes. Allow to cool 1 minute. Transfer to cooling rack.
Use white granulated sugar, sparkling sugar or non-pareils to press.
